Oscan Swan Inn Wedding in Geneva, IL: Sam & Alex

Sam & Alex wanted an outdoor wedding with old timey charm that also felt modern. The Oscar Swan Inn in Geneva, IL was exactly that! It is a bed and breakfast with huge beautiful gardens that were perfect for their ceremony and reception. Sam got ready upstairs with the girls, I love  seeing matching robes! Jason was with Alex while he got ready downstairs with the guys. Once everyone was ready, it was time for a first look.

We got to do lots and lots of wedding party and couple's photos all around the property. They had plenty of time to stay out of sight and relax before the big moment. The ceremony was so sweet, there were tears and plenty of laughter. When Alex was about to say his vows, he paused, looked up from the paper and said "Sam, I love you so much" I got chills, I was sooooooo hot yet I got chills. Sam had hidden her vows in the bouquet and took a minute for her maid of honor to locate them. After they were pronounced husband and wife, they had a receiving line and the cocktail hour began.

The reception started with a toast thanking and recognizing the grandparents, awwww! There were donuts from Harner's Bakerylots of dancing and our Photo Booth was there too! What a sweet, hot, wonderful day! Cheers to you two!

Bolingbrook Golf Club Wedding in Bolingbrook, IL: Tina & Mike

Tina & Mike were our 150th wedding, yay! The funny part is, her sister Eileen and her husband Dan were our 100th wedding, how cool is that? Tina is one of six sisters and chose them ALL as her bridesmaids, their nieces and nephews were the flower girls and ring bearers.

Tina got ready at her parent's house, I love the goose at her front door! They had some champagne, got all the kids ready and then got dressed. We even had some time to take photos in the back yard. We then all got on the shuttle and headed to their family's church nearby. Mike and the guys met us there but no first look, they wanted to wait until walking down the aisle for the big surprise, he was smiling from ear to ear when it finally happened.

Unfortunately, Tina's father was only able to join us in spirit. He had a place at the altar and reception. It was beautiful tribute to a great man I had the honor of meeting. Tina's mom walked her down the aisle and they had a mother-daughter dance at the reception. During the ceremony, Mike's sisters and brother in law did readings.

After the bubbly exit from the church, we did family photos and photos with their wedding party as well. The reception was filled with photos of the families' weddings and childhood photos of them. Everything was wonderful! Cheers to the new chapter of your lives!

Elgin, IL Wedding: Adriana & Jimmy

When I met Adriana & Jimmy, they said they only wanted a small intimate church ceremony. When I caught up with them closer to the wedding day, they had chosen to add a small family dinner. Long story short, there were a TON of people at the church. Little did they know how many folks cared about them and wanted to share in their wedding bliss. They had all the traditional hispanic touches, the lasso, candle, bible, arras and even had mariachi!

After the beautiful ceremony, we went to Lord's Park for newlywed snuggles and photos. It... was... cold. Sooooooo unseasonably windy and harshly cold. Jimmy's son and his girlfriend were jacket assistants and helped me keep Adriana warm between shots.

We then went to their family dinner and heard a wonderful toast by Jimmy's older brother in which he lovingly tricked his brother into a first dance. Not a dry eye in the house. Thanks you two for letting me come along in your sweet journey, cheers to your love!

Batavia VFW Wedding in Batavia, IL: Brooke & Ryan

Brooke & Ryan chose a chilly March day and the Batavia VFW for their wedding celebration. Their pup was the ring bearer, he looked so dapper!

The day began at Inspired Salon by Carolyn where they got amazing hair styles. We then headed to the Batavia VFW to finish getting ready and last minute decor touch ups.

The ceremony was full of happy tears, they were both very moved while saying their vows. After they were pronounced husband and wife, everyone clapped and their pup barked along, so sweet.

We headed out for photos while the sun was setting, then back inside to continue with the celebration. Brooke & Ryan, very many congratulations as you head into this world united as a couple.

Chateau Del Mar Wedding in Hickory Hills, IL: Ellie & Shayna

Ellie & Shayna's wedding was amazing, we LOVE winter weddings; specially January ones. There's a sense of renewal and new beginnings everywhere, what a perfect way to start the year. These lovely ladies chose to get ready at their home but in separate rooms. Once they were ready, they had their first look in their living room.

We then headed to the forest preserve, hoping to catch the last bit of light and some snow. I'm glad they brought a blanket (their "something blue") it... was... cold, so worth it though. We wrapped up their photo portion of the day with a confetti cannon, yay.

Then it was off to Chateau Del Mar  for their ceremony and reception. Upon entrance, guests were asked to take seat and a shot as they waited for the brides to make their entrance. Their dads were beaming with pride as they walked their daughters down the aisle, their moms were tearing up, what a blessing it is to be a part of such a moment. After the wonderful vows, they kissed and left for a minute alone.

All the parents gave a toast, all the dads got to dance. They had a double bouquet toss and our very own photo booth. The dancing and sweets were incredible. Thank you so much for letting us be a part of your day. Best wishes in your journey as a married couple, salud!

Abbington Banquets Wedding in Glen Ellyn, IL: Beth & Tyler

This was the most beautiful January ever! Who could've thought we would find snow-loving couples like Beth and Tyler? I'm not sure how, just glad we did!

They began their day getting ready at the church. Beth had a cold, but she would NOT let that get in the way of her joy. Before the ceremony, we got each half of the wedding party photos with some strategy to avoid an accidental "first look"

The ceremony was sweet, what I remember most, is Tyler's grandpa Face-timing in from the hospital, I love, love, love how technology connects us. Afterwards, we headed to Hurley Gardens for sunset and night photos... very unique!

They chose Abington Banquets for their reception celebration. The first dance melted my heart, he dipped her, looked at her and kissed her. It all happened so fast and yet so slow. Once the toasts, dances and tossings were done, we stepped out for a few night photos in the snow. Beth, Tyler, we will always remember the joy of your wedding. Thanks for letting us capture it!

Company 251 Wedding in Aurora, IL: Jackie & Kevin

We've got so much tell you about Jackie & Kevin's wedding day. First off, they chose an amazing new luxury venue, it's called Company 251 in Aurora, IL. They got ready in their sweet suites (see what I did there?) with their bridesmaids and groomsmen. Afterwards, it was time for their first look. It was so heartfelt and we were luck to miss the rain. We then took advantage of pre-ceremony time for family and wedding party photos, yay!

Her brother officiated the ceremony AND her other brother (along with his girlfriend and Jackie's maid of honor) sung a fabulous duet. The duet music was provided by their piano teacher, how awesome is that?

Everyone then headed upstairs for dinner and toasts, the room looked gorgeous! The food was amazing, I've now had the best salad of my life, no joke. During the reception, the photo booth was a huge hit. Oh, and you must check out the best bouquet throwing face ever! During the garter finding portion, Jackie surprised Kevin with tickets, he was shocked! Jackie & Kevin, thank you so much for choosing us to capture so much sweetness, cheers to you and your marriage!

William Tell Wedding in Countryside, IL: Tiffany & Anthony

Tiffany & Anthony chose the William Tell banquet hall for their amazing day. We had so much fun with them! We started the day with hair, makeup and all that. Once everyone was ready, the girls and guys took turns at the courtyard for photos.

The outdoor ceremony was very windy. The officiant bravely protected their unity candle and helped them light it, it was so sweet. During the reception, the guests voted on whether Tiffany or Anthony would get a cake-jul to the face. Scroll below to see who won. We absolutely loved being there, congratulations again!

Kane Courthouse Wedding: Chanel & Keith

Chanel & Keith met through her brother, who just happens to be, drumroll please... our very own Jason! I was thrilled to be a part of such a loving, intimate day. Chanel & Keith chose a Monday and the Kane County Courthouse to make it official. The courthouse building was so rich with architecture and history, I'm so glad we had time for a few photos inside.

After the ceremony, we headed to the Fabyan Forest Preserve for family and couple's photos. This park will always be a favorite for me, specially those arches, and the gate too. Their dinner reception was at Patten House in Geneva, it was wholesome and low key. They had just a few speeches, doughnuts and lots of rain outside to set the mood. At the very end, they stepped out for a quick rainy night photo and, well, it was the perfect end to their first day of marriage. Chanel & Keith, we are so very happy for you both, thank you for inviting us along!

Meyer Ballroom Wedding in Aurora, IL: Maddie & Glen

Maddie & Glen were one of the most organized, couples ever! When Krista & I got there, they were running over an hour ahead! We of course got to do some family photos then, all while avoiding an accidental first look. Once the ceremony began, my favorite part was the hymn. There is something so special about having everyone singing together, melts my heart.

After the ceremony, they jumped on the party bus and headed to the park for photos, I love that vine tunnel so much, they rocked their session! Then it was off to the reception at the Meyer Ballroom in Aurora. You can't beat the view of the Fox River, the outstanding food and the whole ambiance. Maddie & Glen, thank you for having us capture your day, we wish you the very best in your marriage.

Riverview Banquets Wedding in Batavia, IL: Ashley & Mario

Ashley & Mario love each other, their converse shoes and those sweet doggies. They chose Riverview Banquets in Batavia, right by the fox river for their big day. We started hair and makeup offsite and then headed to the hotel to get dressed and put on lots and lots of glitter, at least the girls did. Before going to the ceremony, we stopped at home for photos with the doggies, they were so good!

The ceremony was outdoors with the most beautiful weather. We stayed outside for a long time doing family photos and of just the two of them. Congratulations you two! Best wishes for your new life together in beautiful Wisconsin!

White Eagle Golf Club Wedding in Naperville, IL: Jennifer & Lazir

Jennifer & Lazir live in New Mexico. While planning to visit Lazir's family in Illinois, they decided to get married too. They chose to wed at White Eagle Golf Club in Naperville, IL. They had a very intimate wedding with just a handful of guests. The pastor and his wife sang while they lit their unity candle... and they danced, it was very heartwarming. We then started brunch and some live entertainment. We did sneak out for a few photos of them on the beautiful course.

Congratulations and safe travels you two!

Glessner House & New Furama Wedding in Chicago, IL: Stephanie & Steve

So much to tell about this day and these two! The day began getting with them getting ready at the Hilton downtown with their bridesmaids and groomsmen, oh and Daisy (their sweet pup) was there too! Once they were ready, we all got down to their beautiful staircase lobby for a first look.

It was hot, so freaking hot that day. They wanted to stay close so we simply crossed the street for their photos, yay! Then onto the school bus and headed to Glessner House Museum for their ceremony. As they were about to start the processional, it started to rain :( we of course, turned to the internet. There are apps nowadays that predict the exact moment the rain will stop. I checked Dark Sky and we were 9 minutes away from dryness. The plan was hatched and once the rain stopped, the groomsmen (armed with paper towels) dried every seat and the wedding began. My favorite part was the calligraphy portion, so awesome!

Everyone hopped back on the bus and headed towards New Furama Restaurant for the reception. Stephanie changed outfits for the tea ceremony. What a wonderful way to honor their families and for the family members to wish them well in their marriage.

The cake was sweet and nerdy, the dancing was very heartfelt. Steve also danced with his grandmother to her weddings song! I also found my new favorite tradition, table toasts! Stephanie, Steve, their parents and wedding party went to each table to toast with the guests; everyone loved it! The photo booth was a huge hit too, I love the shenanigans that ensue late at night.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for choosing us to capture your day And what an incredible day it was. Best wishes in absolutely everything you do!

Montgomery, IL VFW Wedding: Melissa & Noel

When Melissa & Noel told me about their Wizard of Oz wedding plans, I was incredibly excited. You could say I was a bit skeptical they could pull it off, yet remained cautiously optimistic. Well, it was waaaaaaay better than I imagined. The flying monkey flower girls were my favorite! No wait, it was the ruby red shoes. No, it was the yellow brick road aisle runner. Can't decide, it was all magical!

They chose VFW in Montgomery for it all to happen. The ceremony was outdoors on a beautiful April day. We then stayed out for some family photos and some with their wedding party. During the dancing, Melissa's stepdad surprised her by wearing a shirt with her dad's face on it... not a dry eye in the house. Towards the end of the night, we stepped out for a couple of colorful photos of just the two of them. What a day, congratulations you two!

Meson Sabika Wedding in Naperville, IL: Jaclyn & Sam

2016 was rich with weekday, intimate weddings at fabulous places. Jaclyn & Sam chose a Wednesday and Meson Sabika for the big day. I got to hang with her and BFF/Matron of Honor while getting ready. Sam and their son quickly followed and we even got to do first look by those sweet stairs.

After their ceremony, we stepped out with just enough light for sweet winter portraits. They had cake, amazing tapas and Jaclyn had a very touching toast to share with Sam, mom and her sister. Congratulations you two!

Wheaton, IL Wedding: Diane & Dee

These two had a sweet and beautiful Wednesday wedding. They got to their church early enough for photos of just them. Their family and friends arrived shortly after and got to see their vows, ring exchange and first kiss.

After the ceremony, we stepped outside. Diane & Dee handed each guest a balloon. They released them after a blessing from his granddaughter. Thank you very much for such a sweet afternoon, you made my heart full!

Alpine Banquets Wedding in Darien, IL: Julie & Dan

You can tell Julie & Dan are truly grateful to have found each other. There is an ease and comfort to their relationship that can be seen and felt by all. When the day started, I got to hang out with Julie while she got ready and discovered her extensive Goofy figurine collection. We then headed to the church for a first look with her dad and a very sweet ceremony. Julie & Dan smiled from ear to ear the entire time!

We went to one of our favorite parks for photos. It went so well, we finished early and had time for a few more photos at the beautiful field at Alpine BanquetsTheir reception was a big family meal, an impressive dessert table and a whole bunch of dancing. Congratulations you two!

Carriage Greens Country Cub Wedding in Darien, IL: Linda & Michael

Linda & Michael have been together for a long, long time. They finally set a date and chose Carriage Greens Country Club for their big day. After they got ready, they had a first look and a bit of time away from everyone.

The ceremony included actual knot tying, yay! It also had the best first kiss ever, just look below. After the ceremony, the wedding party headed out into the golf course for some photos.

The reception had some unique touches. The groom's cake and the introductions were quite memorable. Thank you for having us, cheers to you two!
