Illinois backyard wedding

Backyard farm wedding: Elizabeth & Russell

Elizabeth grew up on her family’s farm, which was the perfect place for a wedding. She got ready in her childhood bedroom with her bridesmaids. Russell and his groomsmen showed up a bit later, ready to model. The guys were super fun to work with, once those photos were done, we hid Russell and brought out Elizabeth and the girls for some photos. Their ceremony had a gorgeous backdrop of soybeans, sunflowers and her mother’s beautiful artsy pieces of glass and metal.

Russell is a jeweler and made both wedding rings! Hers features pumpkin vines, her favorite thing and his is made from a meteorite! They also grew their own flowers, one of her bridesmaids made the cake, it takes a village! After the ceremony and a hearty round of family photos, guests enjoyed delicious vegan food, lawn games and music. During the first dance he picked her up and spun her about 5 times, so fast too!

What a beautiful day, I truly felt blessed to experience it, cheers to your beautiful union!

Family Farm Wedding in Batavia IL: Francis & Dan

Francis & Dan are my spirit animals. Seriously, they farm, they Illinois-it up, they joke around, eat salsa, love their pup, dance and don't care... yet, they do. When I met them, I seriously shouted to the skies "please let them hire me for their wedding" and they did!

First off, like every September wedding I've been a part of... it rained. But that didn't dampen their spirits or the heart of the celebration. They had an amazing tent set up and a couple of tractors to entertain. Their ceremony was officiated by her brother, it was short but very, very sweet. Then the mariachi sang, ahhhhh! We had a bit of time for wedding party and pup photos following (a priority if I'm involved).

There was SO MUCH DANCING, dollar, line, bachata, you name it, it happened. The whole thing was magical, thank so much for choosing us to photograph your wedding, salud!

Red Oak Nature Center Wedding in Batavia, IL: Stephanie & Steven

I've known Stephanie & Steven for many years. I always say the've been together way before they started dating. They are best friends, they are there for each other and so supportive and loving both as individuals and as a couple. One of the things they enjoy doing together, is running in the Red Oak Nature Centerthat's also where he proposed and the perfect place for an intimate wedding.

There was no plan for the ceremony, we just picked an area and went for it. Afterwards, we walked around the park and hit up all their favorite spots. Their backyard reception was just as relaxed and chill as the ceremony. No dress code, no timeline, tons of delicious food and a whole lot of good conversation. I couldn't be happier for these two, love you guys!
